Hello!

Five serious Rush fans—four players and an amazing sound engineer—played some Rush together in 2010 and they had so much fun doing it, they decided to call it a band. Taking on some of the most challenging music in Rock, they now bring their hobby to the stage under the tongue-in-cheek name Rash.

Rash captures the sound and energy of Rush in their prime, with greatest hits and deep cuts to satisfy the casual listener and the hardcore fan alike. Just a bunch of talented Rush fans who play the music they’d want to hear Rush play.

Rash is suitable for any event where great rock music is appreciated. The members are seasoned performers with years of stage experience, and the sound is top notch. If you like Rush, you’ll love this band.

MEET THE BAND:
Picture
David Bole :|: Bass
David’s musical foundations in traditional jazz and pop and his love of progressive rock give him the breadth of influences and the chops required to tackle the monumental bass lines of Geddy Lee. David firmly believes there are only two types of music in the world: the kind you enjoy, and the other kind. The trick is to increase the first and decrease the second.

Jay Leek :|: Guitar
Jay is a bassist and guitarist who likes a challenge. After nearly a decade in the role of Chris Squire in the Northern California Yes tribute band Parallels, he returns to his six-string roots to recreate the work of Alex Lifeson, who’s playing and sound have inspired his musical journey since junior high.

Michael Lomax :|: Vocals and Synthesizers
Michael brings the vocal spirit and synth wizardry of Geddy Lee to life before your very ears. There are a handful of Rush tributes out there who really capture the instrumental part of the equation, but fewer still can boast a voice that so closely recreates Lee’s sound and style. It’s a little shocking to hear this guy nail one of the most unusual and exceptional voices in music history.

Jeff Tuttle :|: Electronic and Acoustic Percussion
Jeff Tuttle plays drums like Neil Peart did in his prime. An accomplished musician, Jeff plays drums and percussion instruments in a number of successful bands. His intimate knowledge of Peart’s style and performance, combined with his precision playing and exceptional power captures that all-important aspect of the Rush vibe perfectly. He must be seen to be believed.

Eric Bedes :|: Sound Engineering
Sound and electronics engineer Eric Bedes makes Rash sound amazing. His knowledge of the material—he can play bass and keys on most of it—keeps all the cues straight, the solos loud and the overall sound very ... well ... very RUSH. In addition to managing the live sound, Eric also contributes substantially to keyboard programming and sound effects production.

David (Caso) Casavantes :|: Lighting
Life-long Rush fan, bassist/keyboardist/vocalist and all-around fix-it guy, Caso brings his intimate knowledge of Rush and love of live performance to bear as our lighting programmer and light show operator. He's an indispensable part of our show. Check out the work that has gone into the lighting and we think you'll agree.
